Joy School Tips
So, I am thinking about starting a Joy School for Tommy and I am wondering if the girls who have done this (or just have any ideas) could give me some tips/advice. Does anyone have any experience in this? I would like it to be just about once a week and pretty simple. Thanks.
I would email Bekah Palmer or Lindi Oldham. They have both done Joy Schools. I also have a friend from high school whose daughter does Joy School. Her email is katiebgreen@hotmail.com
Lindi and I did it through valuesparenting last year. The year before, it was pretty informal, once a week. There are pros and cons to both. My advice is to keep it simple, small group(4 or less), and have fun. Good luck!
Is a Joy School where all the children go to one of the children's houses to learn, each parent then takes a turn at it with everyone's kids? Am I thinking of the right thing? Either way, this is what we have going with my son and it's working great! They have a curriculum and everything. I got to make the poster with all the rules for the class...it turned out pretty sweet, but then again I've always been pretty good with artsy stuff. Right, Nancy? ;)

I don't have a clue, but Rebecca Craft is putting one together right now. She would probably have some ideas.
Everything you need to set up a Joy School can be found at http://www.valuesparenting.com/joyschool/settingupjs.php. Hopefully this helps.
